You’ll either make a prong set ring or pendant depending on your skill level. If you’re feeling confident in your soldering capabilities you’ll have the option to make a ring which is a little trickier than a pendant. We’ll guide you through different stone types and shapes which are most suitable for prong setting. Then we’ll guide you through the following - What metal sizes to use when prong setting. - How to create the setting base. - Adding prongs. - Attaching a bail or ring. - Buffing and polishing an intricate piece. - Cutting your seat. - Setting the stone, trimming the prongs and a final polish. This is a very interactive workshop which is suitable for intermediate students and people with prior experience of jewellery making. If you need glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, along with wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit but please enquire before booking a class for anyone under the age of 16 just to confirm it will be suitable. All under 16’s in the workshop will need to be with a participating adult.
