Covid19 update: offering over 100+ courses in Cumbria & the Lakes, we hope to resume all 'in person' courses in late July 2020. During lock down, we've upgraded a listed barn into a beautiful spacious workshop studio, enabling courses to take place with 2m distancing, hand washing and two staircases. It's possible usual catered lunches may not be included for summer courses, depending on circumstances at the time.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Make your own drum lampshade from the fabric of your choice. Choose a morning 09.30am-12.00 noon or afternoon 1pm-3.30pm course.
Georgia will arrive with all the tools and equipment needed to complete a lampshade during this short course. You will have fun creating a bespoke lovely drum lampshade to take home with you.
Georgia will also bring a selection of her wonderful fresh fabrics from her Yorkshire studio and students can choose these for their lampshades or you can bring their own fabric. If you choose to make a larger shade, or if you select some of Georgia's fabric, these will be charged extra.
Georgia Wilkinson is a trained Surface Pattern Designer who worked in the studio of a textile printers for such companies as Vanessa Arbuthnott and Lewis & Wood – popular and quintessential English fabric designers. Drawing on such influences, she now produces her own inspiring designs for modern printed fabrics for the furnishing and fashion industry. Favouring the bold, clean lines of 1960s wallpapers and ceramics, but brought up to date with a crisp palette and striking repeat patterns adding energy to any interior space.

What's included in the price?
The lampshade kit, welcome teas and coffees, freshly baked scones are all included. If you choose to use Georgia's fabrics, or you decide to make a large lampshade, there will be an extra nominal charge.
