Make your own Handmade Book with Decorated Cover

About the Course

We will make a Japanese Stab Bound Book with a hand decorated cover. This is an opportunity for experienced makers to develop skills or beginners to discover new ones.
The morning will be spent considering options for decorating the cover of your book in the inspiring space of gallery 2. We will think about including collage and print into your book cover design and then have fun translating these ideas into making our covers.

In the afternoon you will learn how to construct your book using the traditional stitch used in Japanese book binding.

Your completed book will be ready for you to take home and enjoy.

What's included in the price?

Paper materials, paint and inks will be provided for your book.

While your work dries we will break for lunch. You are welcome to bring along a packed lunch or use one of the lovely cafes nearby.

Drinks will be provided at the studio.
