About the Course

Make a pole lathe. Involves some carpentry, but tuition provided so no experience necessary. The lathe should be completed in the first 2 days, allowing the 3rd day for getting the hang of using it. The lathe can be packed down and transported in the back of a car. Turning tools available for sale at the course.
This is a great way to get into the absorbing therapeutic activity of pole lathe turning or "bodging". Bodgers are known for their resourcefulness and tend to create the tools they need from materials at hand, rather than visiting the DIY store; so bearing that in mind, building your own lathe is an ideal way to embark on this journey.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Price includes materials. Lunch and refreshments provided throughout each day. Excellent Bed and Breakfast is available at Lower Brockhampton Estate - search for Warren Farms for more details - or there are other local alternatives. Camping on site is also possible.
