About the Course
We will be using the pattern and colour of damaged, chipped and broken china to make freestanding panels featuring animal and birds. They could include small details like flower blossoms, leaves and lettering - anything that adds to the story.
The china is mainly British and from the 1960/70s, sourced for it's graphic qualities and colour palette, we use simple tools and each panel is built up gradually with every little piece playing it’s part. The workshop will cover the basics of mosaic making, tools, materials and finishing. During the day you will complete the tiling of a panel and have a grouting demonstration, you will leave with your own grouting kit including written instructions to complete at home (the panels need 24hours to set before grouting).
Feel free to bring any of your own china or details you’d like to include, you may have just the right thing in the back your cupboard.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
