Join us at our beautiful woodland centre for a day, learning how to make a buck saw to take home with you (saw blade included with the ticket). With just a saw blade and some paracord, you will learn the skills and techniques needed to make a buck saw out of materials nature provides. When you make a buck saw you will unleash a great amount of bushcraft potential when it comes to making things in the outdoors. No longer restricted to the limitations of a folding saw, this versatile tool will allow you to cut very large logs (around 10″ diameter) with relative ease, and make processing firewood a joyous task.
This Workshop will include:
🌳Demonstration of how to set up and use a buck saw
🌳Learning how to safely use the bushcraft knife (including advanced techniques)
🌳Making a ‘try stick’ (for practice before moving on to make the saw)
🌳Choosing the right materials, including improvised options
🌳Measuring out the pieces for the buck saw
🌳Processing the wood into the component parts
🌳Learning how to tie the knots needed for making the tool
🌳Making the buck saw
🌳Testing your completed buck saw
