About Emma Redfern . . .anyone who loves textiles, handbags and facebook may already know Emma Redfern's very popular 'Hole House' page from where she sells her wonderfully original, unique and quirky bags. Living just a few miles away from the Cycle Cafe in Cumbria's lovely northern fells we were delighted when she agreed to take some courses here in Greystoke during 2015.
With a background in art history and an interest in the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement, she believes that anyone can produce something beautiful and useful given a little instruction and some inspiring fabric. Emma uses her own patterns, which you will be able to take away with you along with full instructions after the course.
Our 2017 course dates are available. If you wish to join our database, please use the 'Stay in Touch' icon at the top of each webpage on OUR WEBSITE (link above). Many of our early courses get booked up for Christmas presents.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Lots of fun and laughter plus some fabulous bag making 'know how' - please bring your own machine and Emma will provide all detailed below for each course . You will need to choose your fabric, though Emma will help you choose something really special. Leather handles and zips are charged at cost - see below for details.
Welcome drinks : fresh coffee & home made biscuits, a lovely 2 course Aga lunch served in our farmhouse kitchen or outside in the Greystoke Cycle Cafe Tea Garden as soon as it's warm enough. To finish off the day, a freshly made Cream Tea (including Aga-baked scones, cream and jam).
Our days are considered special treats; many come back time and time again and often combine it with a short break to the Lake District.
We have been hosting and organising 'Quirky Workshops' since 2005 from our friendly family run Cycle Cafe Tea Garden on the northern fringes of the Lake District. All our tutors are carefully hand selected experts and professionals and many considered as leading nationally in their field.
