In this workshop, you will learn the most common techniques and knots used when making macrame wall hangings. You will be shown examples of different designs and how to create them. you will then go on to design your own piece.
We will start by choosing our cords and colours and then we will learn a few of the more useful knots such as the square knot, the half-square knot and the double half hitch. After practicing knots, we will look at some patterns and begin our wall hanging.
Sally will help with design tips and how best to approach your project to ensure you finish the workshop with a lovely piece of art that you will be proud to display at home or give to someone as a gift.
There will be handouts available for everyone to use on the day as a reference for knots and patterns. These can be taken away with you so you can practice the techniques that you learn at home and hopefully make more lovely wall hanging designs in the future.
