Description

This workshop is a great introduction to lino printing, but also suitable for those who have some past experience. By the end of the session you will have designed, cut and printed your own lino block and have a number of prints to take home, along with the lino printing block you created at the workshop for future printing.

The workshop will cover: points to consider when creating a lino cut design; transferring the design onto a block; cutting the design into the block using the gouges; and printing a single cut print using softcut lino and oil based inks (using both a printing press and by hand).

Before working on your final piece you will learn about the materials, tools and techniques required to create a print. There will be an opportunity to practise cutting before progressing onto your final design.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

You will be provided with all the tools and materials you need. Prior to the workshop some notes with hints and tips will be sent out so that you can think about your design, along with a link to a Pinterest board for inspiration. Liz, your tutor, will also bring some of her designs too which participants can use if they wish.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day including home baked cakes, and a two course lunch.

We do not offer accommodation at Hare Hill Barn but being in the Lake District there are numerous places to stay locally to suit all budgets.

We continue to monitor Covid19 and will follow Government guidelines.
