Looking, I mean really looking, is usually the bedrock: the fundamental principle on which every creative endeavour is placed. Where, for many, their formal journey begins and to where they return when things get tough.
In this course you’ll work from life to create a life-size three-dimensional portrait. Working with sculptor Keziah Burt and a sitter/model you will refine your observational and clay modelling skills. Over three days you’ll develop an understanding of facial anatomy, likeness and gesture to sculpt an accurate, three-dimensional clay study.
At the end of the course you will have a solid life-size clay head. It will not be fired. An additional hollowing out session and firing can be arranged.
Prerequisites: none, designed for beginners or anyone wanting to refine existing skills.
Keziah Burt is portrait sculptor based in Yorkshire. Keziah undertakes private and public commissions in bronze, cast stone and ceramic.
