About the Course
New Brewery Arts run a number of life drawing workshops from one day to ten weeks. Please visit our website for further details
Our ten week course runs on a Tuesday afternoon and evening . Get mucky with charcoal, colourful with pastels and expressive with paint, come and see what the art world’s most essential art class has to offer you.
Weeks 1 & 2
Subject : The ESSENCE of Drawing
Find yourself in line and shade, relate to the subject through your expressive drawing, no measuring up, just through seeing the model and being honest with yourself, bring out an expressive and demanding art work to be looked at.
Weeks 3 & 4
Subject :The ESSENCE of Painting. Poster paint and acrylic.
Discover how colour and brush technique can turn your painting into a powerful art work, with expression and sensitivity, required with life painting.
Weeks 5 & 6
Discover the world of pastels, how technique and expression live side by side, colourful and sensitive, letthe pastels show how you feel about the subject of life drawing.
Weeks 7 & 8
Subject:Acrylic and ink drawing.
Use these two very suitable mediums to create a very modern and distinct way of working of representing the subject, explore how to construct and excite your art work.
Weeks 9 & 10
Subject : Oil Painting.
And to finish with, the canvas paintings, Design and paint two paintings in oils and have the freedom to be expressive and colourful let it flow and produce two masterpieces.
You can turn any of our courses into a short break by staying in our on site accommodation. When you book a residential package you will get discounted accommodation in our stylish boutique hostel located in the centre of Cirencester in the cotswolds right next door to New Brewery Arts. Our former 19th Century Cotswold stone brewery barrel store has been beautifully transformed into 21st century accommodation, light and well-appointed with a craftsman’s attention to detail. We offer guest accommodation for up to 43 people over two floors in 14 rooms, with a choice of single, bunk, family and double bedrooms, 12 with en-suite facilities. A ground floor disabled-friendly room is also available. The hostel provides a stylish communal dining and relaxation area, self-catering kitchen, laundry facilities and lockers for your bike. As with all our courses and workshops these are led by experienced tutors and as you will be part of a small group there is plenty of time to focus on you.
