Individual tuition available for both the drop spindle and spinning wheel in the shadow of the Campsie Fells in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire.
Learn at your own pace and focus on the areas that interest you the most, from fibre preparation and colour blending to plying and art yarn creation!
You will start with a quick lesson on the theory of spinning and the basics of yarn construction, moving swiftly on to learning how to draft fibre and spin on a drop spindle of your choice and, once ready, graduating onto the beautiful spinning wheel.
By the end of your journey you will be capable of spinning a variety of yarns and will have acquired the skills to complete your first hand spun project of your own!
Costs: £15 for the first hour (materials provided) and £10 per each following hour. Typically expect roughly 6 hours tuition to gain the skills necessary to create your first project-suitable yarn - this can take place over one full day or split into shorter sessions if preferable.
