Workshop held on Zoom, for a maximum of 4 people.
This workshop is suitable for beginners who would like to progress to making a simple project, or anyone who hasn't sewn for a while and would like a refresher.
Please note that you need to be able to wind your bobbin and thread your machine. (please contact me if you are unable to do this, as I also offer 1-2-1 lessons for complete beginners)
During the workshop we will be making handles, a pocket and a square base for your bag. Your bag will also be reversible so you get two bags in one, with no visible raw edges.
You will be guided through the process of making your bag, as we sew along together. You can interact with the tutor and other participants.
Fabric will be provided, cut to size. You will receive an email with a choice of fabric to choose from after booking.
Fabric is 100% heavy weight cotton, which makes for a very strong bag.
Detailed written instructions (with photos) will be emailed to you upon completion of the workshop, so you will have something to refer back to.
Most people who have attended have gone on to make lots more bags for themselves and as gifts, I think you will be addicted!!
Its such fun to make your own bags and you would also be doing your bit for the environment, with handmade bags that will last!

Lovely, clear guidance and support. I'm feeling proud of my reversible tote bag. Thank you
Fun and informative, good value for money. Judi is a great teacher.
I recently attended the "Canvas Tote Bag" workshop run by Judi.
The workshop was "very good", I really enjoyed it, and loved my new handmade bag.
Excellent Morning spent in a small friendly group, Judi helped me through the process and I came away with a lovely Tote bag and pattern. I have made another on my own at home and have fabric on order to make even more. I hope to attend further sessions in the future.
Response from Sew Make it:Thank you Deborah, so pleased that you are making use of the pattern and making more! hope to see you again soon.
Great workshop, really enjoyed making the tote bag. Judi explains everything step by step making it very easy for a newbie sewer. We got the template and instructions to take home, so I will be making a lot more. Fabric is great quality, and the bags are very useful.
