About the Course

Crochet is back and seems to be more popular than ever! In this beginners crochet workshop you will learn the basic techniques and terminology; including how to hold the hook and yarn, basic stitches, how to crochet in rows and in the round. Tutor Graeme Knowles-Miller will show you how to make granny squares and give lots of ideas of ways to use them.

Come along and learn how to crochet … you’ll be hooked!

We also run various beginner and intermediate knit and crochet workshops, and have more listed on our website. Please get in touch for more info.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What skill level is this workshop? - Absolute beginner - no crochet knowledge required!

Tea or coffee will be provided free of charge as part of the workshop.
You can either bring your own lunch with you, pop out to one of the local cafes or shops, or pre-order (not included in the workshop fee) from our lovely local cafe menu to have your lunch delivered on the day.

The workshop will be held in our Chapel Allerton shop, at 180 Harrogate Road, Leeds, LS7 4NZ

Chapel Allerton has a frequent bus service from Leeds city centre - catch the 2, 3, or 3A from opposite Kirkgate Market or 36 from the bus station. Ask for Chapel Allerton, there is a stop just after the junction with the Yorkshire Bank. If you are coming from Headingley you can catch the 91 bus from Grove Lane. Parking in front of the shop is free for an hour. There are nearby streets behind the shop with free parking that will be a 2-5min walk to the shop that you can park all day.

There are a few steps to gain access to our shop, and some steps inside too. We need to know in advance if you have a problem with stairs. We will always try to be flexible and to accommodate your needs if we can, so give us as much notice as possible and we will try to make arrangements.
