About the Course

Learn how to hand-build bowls, bottles, vases .... all types of desirable objects from clay. No matter what your current level of ability when working in clay, I can take you to the next level. I have over 20 years' experience as a potter, ceramicist, sculptor, workshop leader and lecturer in art and ceramics. You will enjoy a relaxing, informal but focused day in my pottery studio and learn techniques such as coiling, pinch pot making and shaping, press molding and tile making and many decorative processes. Bring a friend along if you wish. I keep group sizes small so that you will get the maximum amount of tuition and practical involvement.

Looking to give a memorable and imaginative gift to someone? This course is ideal to give as a Christmas or birthday gift because it could ignite a life-long passion in someone dear to you. At the end of the day you are welcome to take home any of the objects that you have made or I will fire them in my kiln and you can come back and collect them when they are ready. I am happy to send them to you for approximately £12, depending on the number.

Book a day’s course to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary or to mark some other special occasion. If you have a design in mind, you can also use this course to make a momento in clay such as gift for a friend or a keepsake. If you have ever wished you could make something really individual that reflects your personality then now is your chance.

Making pots is my passion and I look forward to sharing the secrets of successful pottery making with you. Even if you haven't had a single artistic thought for many years you can enjoy this course and open up a new way of feeling and thinking!

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
