Develop jewellery patterns and designs using a basic vector programme on a computer. We'll use the laser cutter to cut these designs from acrylic or wood. We'll finish our pieces in the jewellery studio. Basic computer skills are essential.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
The first class will include an introduction to the software. Each class will build upon the computer skills learnt, so that you will learn through making. You should have completed a first simple project by the end of the first class. Each lesson will focus on a particular project and skillset.
You will learn how to send a file to the laser cutter, how to position materials and to set the correct settings on the laser cutter. Projects covered could include making slot together decorative containers out of plywood or acrylic, making a layered decorative bowl out of plywood or acrylic, using card to create stencils, cutting felt for a variety of uses.
