About the Course
I run Landscape painting workshops from my studio in Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey and ‘en plein air’ in Snowdonia. They are open to total beginners and more experienced learners.
The workshops are in watercolour but if learners want to paint in another waterbased medium that is fine.
The courses are usually residential but are open to non-residents also. The price advertised is non-residential.
The workshops run from Friday through to Sunday evening.
On Friday we gather together in the studio and go over the weekend and the facilities in the studio. People who are staying on site will be familiarised with rooms and facilities.
On Saturday we go out to draw/take photos from the inspirational landscape surrounding Beaumaris (weather dependent) and further into Snowdonia. Then we paint in the studio. I will demonstrate techniques and work one to one with learners. I cover wet in wet//brush work/colour mixing.
On Sunday we paint in the studio (unless there is demand to go out again) and once again I demonstrate techniques and work one to one. I will cover; adding detail into the mix/painting on coloured paper/ texture.
The studio is very comfortable and has a log burner as well as full heating.
I have taught drawing/painting at many levels from being a University lecturer in Art&Design and foundation courses for those who are starting out. Recently I have run local groups in Wales for adults and WEA. I also have experience in working with disabled people and those with special needs. Part of my training has been in Art Therapy.
My workshops are friendly and I endeavour to make each person feel welcome.
The dates are.
8th February - Absolute beginners watercolour Landscapes.
8th March - Watercolour painters who have some experience in Landscape painting or more experienced who want to loosen up!
12th April - Absolute beginners watercolour Landscapes.

What's included in the price?
Included in the cost is full tuition for 2 days and hot drinks cake/biscuits. Soup at lunch time with tasty home baked bread.
Residential learners stay in accommodation which is 5 minutes walk from the beach and the town of Beaumaris. Its connected to my studio via a garden. Or you can stay in the loft in the spacious studio (this will allow you to work in the evening as well). The studio has all facilities including its own fully equipped kitchen, wetroom, central heating and a log burner.
I can also recommend alternative accommodation locally. The cost of staying in the studio or the house for 2 nights and all workshops is £290. Included in the cost is breakfast, lunch and dinner, drinks, cake/biscuits throughout the day.
Workshops are for 4-5 people which enables me to give lots of attention to everyone.
If the weather is good and there is demand there is an option to paint outdoors. I have a motorhome which has all facilities on board, so you wont get cold and we can eat lunch outdoors in the mountains or by the sea!
More dates and information/photos of the accommodation and facilities can be found on Painting in Wales. Georgina Rambton.
I prefer learners to bring their own paints and paper but I always have spares that can be used at cost price. Please contact me if you have any other questions. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you!
I joined Georgina's class as a beginner a few years ago. She taught me how to paint and at the same time encouraged me to develop my own artistic style.
The sessions are always relaxed usually starting with a short demo on a new technique or an ongoing project .
When working on our own paintings Georgina always has time for everyone to discuss their progress and offers support and guidance .
Since joining Georgina's class I feel I have grown in confidence as a painter and would recommend anyone interested in art to have a go.

I joined Georgina's classes from a recommendation of a friend and I have enjoyed myself immensely. I had very little experience of water colour painting when I began but with Georgina's guidance and encouragement I am able to have a go at anything! She is always able to point out something she likes in the things that I do and will help me on my way when I need it. Now I recommend others to go to Georgina's classes and workshops:-)

Georgina's sessions provide an opportunity to enjoy creative expression, develop skills and explore new techniques in a relaxed, empathetic and supportive environment. Thoroughly recommended.
Sue Clark - - #19014
Georgina's teaching is very helpful both in providing advice on individual paintings and in encouraging us to try different techniques, styles, and media.
A typical session will include short demonstrations or exercises, and we always have time to work on our own paintings.
I value the freedom to work with my own choice of subjects and media. Our mixed-ability group has a wide range of artistic experience and interests, and Georgina tailors her teaching to our individual needs. I started as a beginner about three years ago, and I am confident that my own painting has developed due to her teaching.
