About the Course

Welcome to the wonderful world of glass!

Lampwork is the name of this glass bead making craft and we have a wonderful 5 hour masterclass, starting with the basics of glass bead making and developing the intricate skills to produce unique and enchanting beads.

Perfect for beginners, or for someone wanting to develop their skills further, within a small group environment with all materials and equipment provided.

Firstly we’ll run through an introduction to all equipment and go through health and safety procedures.
You’ll learn how to melt a glass rod in an open flame and then gather onto a prepared mandrel. It gets hot but its so much fun!
Learn how to form and control the gathered glass into a bead.
Once confident of initial process students can move onto more difficult designs using fritt and stringers.

You’ll end up with a number of beads you can take home and turn into a finished piece of jewellery.

Your Tutor Maria will give you a great teaching experience as well as supporting your own ideas.
