About the Course
We offer a variety of different Lampshade Making Workshops,
No-Sew Lampshade Making £30 (half day or evening)
Hand-Stitched Traditional Lampshade Making £45 (full day) & Embroidered & Appliqued Lampshades £45 (full day).
You will learn techniques to create a professionally finished lampshade. The drum lampshades come in a variety of sizes - a 20cm shade is included in your workshop, or you can upgrade to a larger size for an additional charge.
At the hand-stitched lampshade workshop you will learn to create a traditional scalloped edge lampshade. From covering the frame to making the shade and adding trimmings. Some machine and hand sewing are required.
Or create a unique lampshade using applique techniques, hand and machine (not essential) embroidery. Design a piece of fabric depicting a landscape, garden, favourite building or your house! You will learn how to use fabric texture, colour and patterns to build up your design. The possibilities are endless and you will have a unique piece of art for your home. This is a two in one workshop as you will also learn how to make a drum lampshade from your appliqued design, no sewing involved in that part.
