Description

Mini Course with Elizabeth Williamson (4 sessions of 2 hours)

An introduction to Shetland Lace Knitting

Shetland Lace Knitting is a particular style of knitting that developed in the Shetland Islands and was one of the main exports of the Island during the early part of the last century. The work of the very talented knitters of the Shetlands is world renown and still very popular to this day.

Starting with the 'Old Shell' pattern, Elizabeth will guide you through different stitches and build on your skills each week. At the end of each session you will have created a small swatch of your pattern and you can go away and practice ready to develop your skills the next week.

Dates: Sep 3, 2021 - Sep 24, 2021
Takes place every week, total of 4 sessions

The classes will be tailored to the abilities of the individual class members, so are suitable for beginners and the more advanced, but you must be able to knit and purl. (Ask about our basic knitting course if you need to learn)
