About the Course
Take your machine knitting skills to the next level in this intermediate class. You’ll be buzzing with ideas and full of enthusiasm to try out what you’ve learned with some new knitting projects!
In this class, you’ll:
-Learn techniques including E wrapping, fringing, cording, tucking, weaving in and punch-card jacquard
-Experiment with different types of yarns from fine, chunky and fancy yarns to create pattern and colour placements
-Knit cords which then can be used with other techniques in your work. The cords can be used as a yarn for hand knitting, trims, weaving, knotting, stitching onto other fabrics and materials.
-Create your own freehand punchcard design. Here, you’ll learn creative ways to use pattern and texture in your work. You will experiment with punchcard designs for Jacquard/ Fair Isle, Tucking & Slip Stitch and Weaving in techniques. Use various yarns and colours to create different effects and textures your work.
-Create a collection of experimental swatches which can be developed further into your design ideas for fashion, interiors, accessories & trims
