About the Course
Fi Kilpatrick’s kiln formed glass classes
Fi Kilpatrick’s classes are deliberately small and personal. For the kiln forming beginner there is a five-hour class of close tuition to create their artwork. The first class is a relaxed introduction over a cup of tea to the craft of glass fusing, along with the creation of the design itself.
Students will then assemble their pieces and see them into the kiln. 'This is an ideal way to create a unique piece for a loved one and learn a new skill at the same time’, says Fi. ‘It is possible to include photography, print or painting as well enjoying the act of composition. I can’t think of a nicer gift than a work of art made by a friend or family member that can then be passed down through the generations.’
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What a brilliant day! I was a bit nervous at first (especially about the glass cutting) but Fi's relaxed and knowledgeable manner meant that I relaxed in no time. It was such a lovely experience - I felt like a child again, playing with beautiful coloured pieces of glass, yet creating something beautiful. I had never done anything like this before but that didn't matter, Fi guided me where I needed it and let me find my own way the rest of the time. I would highly recommend this course. Thanks Fi.

I attended Fi's "Further Fusing" 2 day course in August and still can't quite believe how many different techniques and areas we managed to cover and how many beautiful pieces of glass were produced as a result! Fi is extremely talented and experienced, and was so generous with the depth of knowledge and resources she shared with me. In addition, she is just a lovely person to be around and a great teacher - patient, calm and inspiring and happy to tailor the course content around my requirements and interests. The class was taught in her light and spacious studio gallery which was an amazing space to work in, with Paddy the dog for company too! Great value and highly recommended!

My friend and I spent a lovely day with Fi, on a glass fusion course bought as a Christmas present by my husband. What a great way to spend a day, learning an interesting craft and creating something very unique. Fi was very helpful, patient and fun. The day flew by, with a lovely lunch as well. Would highly recommend this course to everyone.

I wanted a workshop as a present for my mum's birthday and stumbled on Fi and I'm very glad I did. We had a lovely time experimenting with all the wonderful coloured and textured glass. I highly recommend it, we had such a fun, relaxed and creative day and have some beautiful glass pieces to to be proud of. (I'm not sure I'll ever be able to top that birthday present for my mum!)

Brilliant day! Fi is a very friendly and relaxed teacher and we really enjoyed the day in a rather damp and windy Norfolk. The time flew by and it was fascinating to be shown (and then be allowed to play with) so many and varied materials. A fantastic introduction to glass fusing and a way to surprise yourself with design ideas you didn't know you had in your head. Also a lovely location adjacent to Houghton Hall, and a very welcome and delicious lunch. Thoroughly recommended - give it a go!

I entered the studio and my mind was a blank, Fi put me at ease and moments later i was putting ideas and experimenting with colours and shapes. Fi uses her experience in glass to allow you to be creative with confidence.
The light lunch is delicious.
I recommend Highly and hope to return very soon.

What a lovely experience! Fi is a very calm and patient teacher and it felt really relaxing just to 'play' and focus only on what wonderful creation I might come up with- and the end result didn't disappoint!

Having never even tried working with glass I was really excited to find a course close by. Fi Woolcock is an excellent and patient tutor which is what you need as a beginner. She took me through the process step-by-step and I was amazed at the results I was able to achieve. I'm definitely going to continue and develop my glass work.
