About the Course
Jewellery Making Workshops – Earrings – pierced ears
The aim of the session is to introduce students to the art of making earrings for fun and profit. The session will provide the student with the skills and experience to design and make a range of styles and shapes. All equipment and materials will be provided, all the student needs is enthusiasm and interest. At the end of the session the student will take away a number of pairs of earrings they have made and materials to make some more. The student will be working with beautiful beads and everyone likes touching and looking at beads. By the end of the session, the student will:
1) Be able to use basic hand tools
2) Bend wire using a standard jewellery methods to create loops and eyes
3) Be able to make head pins from single strand wire
4) Be able to make earring wires using jewellery tools
5) Thread and fasten head pins securely to earring wire
6) Worked with silver plated wire, rolled silver wire and sterling silver wire
7) Produce two pairs of beaded sterling silver earrings
The session will last 4 hours, it starts at 12pm and ends at 4pm. There will be a mid session coffee/tea break but refreshment are available ongoing through the session. It is fun and interesting and inspires people to do more. Students will typically have limited or no experience of making any form of jewellery and limited experience of using basic hand tools such as pliers or wire cutters. There are only 3 spaces on every course as this allows for maximum opportunity to develop the skills and engage with the trainer.
The Trainer is an experienced jewellery maker and trainer, he has worked for a number of organisations within Wales delivering training on a range of subjects, including IT and Health and safety. He focuses on his interest area which is jewellery making and provides a range of specialist sessions on jewellery making including, silversmithing for beginners.

All materials and safety equipment (eye protection and gloves) will be provided, the site has full disabled access, drinks and meals are provided. No refunds of fee payments will be made on student cancellation of attendance. No persons under the age of 16 years unless accompanied by an adult can participate in the session.

Payment must be made prior to the start date of the course to reserve the students place on the course. Course fees can be paid in a range of ways:
