Jewellery making weekend: enamelling and silver clay at Flatford Mill

X

Description

An opportunity to explore two different jewellery disciplines in one weekend plus a few general jewellery making tips to make your pieces into wearable art.

Vitreous Enamelling is an ancient art form created by fusing powdered glass to copper and then firing at high temperatures in a kiln. Using both opaque and transparent glass you will create some beautiful and unique pieces of jewellery, or decorative pieces.

Expect to make at least three enamelled pieces in this part of the weekend class.

Silver clay is wondrous stuff, it enables you the flexibility of moulding clay into the shape and design you desire, whilst offering you the beauty of fine silver once fired, a real cheat for frustrated Silversmiths.

Create up to three items of fine silver jewellery using the 10g of silver clay included – depending on the size of pieces made. For beginners and those wishing to develop their skills further. Materials included.
