About the Course
Great Christmas present idea with residential option:
Come and sew along with Janet Poole (Great British Sewing Bee 2019) in the heart of the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.
Janet will show you how to make a machine-quilted cover, using pre-cut Jelly Roll Quilting Fabric.
You will learn all you need to know to create a simple pieced quilt top, make a quilt sandwich, machine-quilting to hold it together and finish it neatly and securely with edge binding.
We will cover three variations on the Jelly Roll Race piecing technique and learn how to convert the sizes to create table mats, table runners and full size quilts.
Finished item: a fully quilted pram-size cover to take home.
This class is suitable for quilting beginners who with a basic knowledge of how to use their own sewing machine
The student should bring:-
- Sewing machine in good working order and spare needles.
- A 1/4” foot and a walking foot useful but not imperative, as is
Jelly Roll & thread
- Backing material and wadding (aka batting). Pre-course notes will
help select suitable materials.
- Sewing kit containing Tailors tape measure, Fabric scissors, Roller
cutter and cutting mat, Needles and pins, Chalk pen
- Covered footwear

Course price is per person and includes buffet lunch, 2-day tuition with a sample of expected end-product, construction and technique notes and instructions and pre-course advice.
