Elements of calligraphy - regular classes

A great opportunity to expand your calligraphy skills and knowledge within a group led by Julie Chaney live online via Zoom.

The informal sessions are aimed at those who wish to expand their knowledge of calligraphy and to work towards developing their personal style. They are structured to provide a blend of instruction, exploration, experimentation and exchange of ideas. Sharing discoveries and solving problems together is key to improvement and many topics are initiated by the participants.

In addition to expanding writing skills, elements of calligraphy may include tools & materials, colour theory, art techniques, methods of working, design & layout, presentation, practical applications and so on.

We focus specifically on broad-edged pen calligraphy.

The sessions are for Improvers and Advanced. They are not suitable for beginners.

The group meets online fortnightly on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm and ending at 4pm.

Each session stands alone and participants can join on any date for any number of classes. However, regular attendance provides continuity for both the individual and the group and encourages a bond amongst participants which is beneficial to all and aids steady progress.

I’m happy to answer any questions.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
