About the Course
Paper marbling course - two hours
Have you ever seen a beautiful old book and wondered how the end pages were made in such intricate patterns? Well those beautiful patterns were made by an ancient art form known as marbling also known as ebru or ‘cloud art’.
Sadly this very old traditional way of creating unique patterns is now classed as critically endangered with only a small handful of people still practicing it.
Come and keep this truly magical art alive and learn all the basics to getting started on a new love affair with this highly addictive and satisfying art!
My workshop will consist of two hours where we will cover getting your materials set up, creating patterns and printing onto a variety of surfaces.
Marbling is essentialy floating paint on a thickened water, and then creating patterns that you capture onto your treated material.
You will get the chance to make a whole stack of unique marbled papers as well as a silk scarf to wear with pride or use as a decorative item in your home.
Marbling is not only great fun and instantly rewarding, but it is also very therapeutic and suitable for all abilities.
I do hope you can join me on my mission to bring this dying art back to life and teach you all the secrets behind this well guarded art!
