About the Course

Ayurveda means knowledge of life, it is an Indian healing system that aims to bring balance to the mind and body to prevent dis-ease. This course explores some of the approaches and techniques of Ayurvedic medicine and how we can tailor our lifestyles to help us improve our health and wellbeing through food, exercise and hands on techniques such as marma point hand massage and tea blending.

Who is this course for
Suitable for Beginners as well practitioners / No prior knowledge is needed
Students are required to give and receive massage - seated / clothed Ayurvedic Head massage

Please note:
Qualified complementary therapists can receive a 5 point CPD certificate for attending this course, a copy of your massage qualification must be given to the tutor at the first day of the course.

Massage is generally safe for everyone but there are conditions when it is not suitable, such as in the first trimester of pregnancy. Please check with a health professional if you have any health concerns.

What does this course cover
The Ayurvedic tradition takes consideration of an individual's constitution and dosha type and uses a range of different treatments and approaches to restore balance among a person's physical, emotional and spiritual aspects. The course aims to look at some of the approaches and techniques of Ayurvedic medicine and how they can help the individual to improve their own health and well being.

All students must be prepared to partake in the practical aspects of the course.

Upon completion of the workshop you will be able to:
Have a better understanding of the concepts and principles of Ayurvedic medicine
Have a better understanding of the Doshas (body constitution) and how to recognise your own Dosha type
Have a better understanding of chakras
Work with a partner to perform a safe and effective Ayurvedic head massage together with a higher chakra balancing treatment
Make your own chai masala tea mix and your own natural Ayurvedic cream.
