About the Course

This course is 30 weeks long from September to June. Students attend a 3 hour class each week with breaks for the usual holiday periods. Course content is divided into 2 different projects where students learn the elements of design, both hand and machine embroidery and the application of that learning to produce a functional or decorative product.
The tutors for this course are Sue Lancaster BA Hons Embroidery, PGCE (Art), FSDC, and Maria Newman City & Guilds Diploma in Stitched Textiles and an expert Patchwork & Quilter.

What's included in the price?

Stitched Up and Fleeced Studio is a well equipped studio with a variety of equipment and materials for students' use. You are also welcome to bring your own sewing machine for use when necessary. Fabrics, sketchbooks and other materials are available at reduced prices.
The course involves dyeing and printing background for stitch and the fabrics and materials for these are available at the studio, with some included in the course fee.
Students are advised that they will not be required to buy things if they already have equivalents and not to buy anything before getting advice from the tutor.
