This Fashion Styling course is perfect for everyone with creative flair and an interest in fashion styling, eager to expand their knowledge and learn new skills. You will be introduced to the world of personal fashion styling whilst developing the necessary skills required to become a fashion stylist. We will explore the importance of seasonality and lifestyle in fashion trends.
Create fashion outfits using silhouettes, colours, prints, and fabrics that will enhance different body shapes, proportions, and facial features. Learn how to communicate, conduct consultations, and work with clients on different budgets. Assemble fashion looks for different occasions that compliment and improve confidence, providing you and your clients with wardrobe edits, capsule wardrobes, and colour analysis. You will research, and present fashion looks by creating mood-boards and virtual wardrobes following creative briefs.
During this course we will use a range of online platforms and visit retail environments to enable you to complete personal fashion styling tasks by in a professional and imaginative way.

This course is highly practical and delivered online as each week you will meet your tutor and a small group of students. You will be able to develop your skills by engaging with suitable projects determined by your existing level of development in discussion with the tutor.
Teaching is both as a whole class and an individual, one-to-one basis using demonstrations, discussion, examples, and other technical support material. You will be able to negotiate individual learning goals with the tutor. You will be introduced to relevant websites & books to support your learning.
There will be an emphasis on sharing knowledge through discussions enabling you to reflect on and critique the work of yourself and others.
Typical Activities - include presentations, and discussions alongside some elements of self-direction study to complete all your practical tasks and final assignment.
Assessment methods - Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals i.e.: progression to further courses.
Which online platform/apps will be used to support learning - You will be introduced and taught to use an online publishing platform to present your own professional fashion imagery for your final project outcome.
The course will use Moodle, Microsoft Teams, JooMag and PowerPoint alongside additional online learning resources such Social Media, YouTube videos, Pinterest, online discussion platforms such as Flip Grid, traditional and online fashion publications and articles which will be available to view on Moodle before and after each lesson.
You will have regular constructive and supportive personal feedback from your tutor in order to ensure you make the best possible progress on your course.
