Paper Cutting Workshop
Description
Come and treat yourself to a wonderfully relaxing and informative afternoon of paper crafting. During the session, local artist, paper cutter and print maker Gill Smith will teach you all the skills needed to start you on your paper cutting adventures. By the end of the afternoon you’ll have created a beautiful artwork using a variety of different paper cutting techniques. Starting with some practice exercises to teach you how to safely cut paper, you’ll then select a template for your final work of art. We’ll have a rooster, tulips, coffee pot and several more pieces for you to choose from. The class is suitable for both total beginners and for those with a little prior experience of paper cutting, who are now bitten by the bug and keen for more! We’ll provide all the materials and tools for you to use during the workshop and Gill will also have some mounts to fit your artwork, should you wish to purchase one on the day. If you do have your own scalpel, metal ruler and cutting mat, you might like to bring them along to use. We’ll also give you lots of tea, coffee and homemade cake.
