Suitable for the absolute beginner and early dabbler. In this one-day workshop you will learn about natural dyeing & how to colour wool and other textiles with the colours hidden in plant materials.

Aimed at the beginner or anyone who has been experimenting at home and wants to know more. We will be working with the classics, including madder, weld and indigo as well as material gathered from a walk through the hedges & wild places around farm to gather and forage materials that we will use to make dyes from.

Working with a range of dyestuffs we will cover the basics in natural plant dyeing techniques: preparing fibre; mordants; sourcing dyestuffs; preparing dye baths; & using modifiers to create a beautiful rainbow of colours naturally & sustainably. Working through the process step by step Jenn will demystify the process & give you a firm foundation in the art of natural dyeing.
