About the Course
Come and explore the art of hand lettering in this fun, crafty and playful 2 hour workshop. You'll be introduced to the fundamentals of creating beautifully visual letterforms and practice 2 alphabet styles specially designed to allow you to quickly start designing your own lettering pieces. This session is all about learning by doing: using fantastically versatile paint pens, we'll explore how to create and add flourishes to your lettering for use all sorts of materials: paper, card, wood, glass, fabric, ceramics...
As well as the pens, guidesheets and practice paper, you'll receive an eco friendly sketchbook and a lovely enamel mug to personalise using your new skill. Feel free to bring along anything else you might like to letter on: a jar or pot, a canvas bag, shirt, a wooden sign, slate.. The possibilities are endless!
This workshop runs with a maximum number of 7 students. The cost includes all materials, any pens that you have enjoyed using will be available to purchase on the day. Refreshments are included.

Claire Coullon is a hand-letterer, typographer and printmaker from Paris, France. She has studied and worked across the world from New York to Prague and is currently living in Bath where she splits her time between co-running a design firm, operating the printing press at Meticulous Ink on Walcot Street, and, of course, hosting workshops to spread her love of ink and letters to the rest of the world.
