In this workshop you’ll learn the basics of lino carving and printing, from the tools and materials you need, to lino carving methods and basic printing methods.
We’ll start by carving simple patterns and then once you feel comfortable with using the tools, we’ll move on to carving out either a tree or an acorn and leaf design.
Once the design is carved, we’ll go through the process of inking and printing up the carving, with plenty of advice on how to get a great print. We’ll also have a play with simple two colour printing and gradients.
By the end of the day, you’ll be confident in creating and printing your own lino cuts.
We’ll be using plenty of blockprinting ink in this workshop, so please either wear an apron or old clothes.
