Course Leader: Martin Brady
Having retired from a 40 year career in the music business as a guitar player and latterly as CEO and Managing Director of the guitar manufacturing giant, Fender, Martin moved back to the UK following a 6 year period living in Sardinia. He decided that he wanted a more earthy existence and decided to acquire a manual skill. He has always been interested in leather so decided to retrain as a leather worker.
For the last 8 years, he has been running a successful leather making business, Artisan, on Dartmoor in the lovely town of Chagford. He can be seen constantly making high end leather belts, country and travel bags, dog accessories, purses and wallets belt bags and belt pouches and many varied commission projects in his studio/shop. He also undertakes leather repairs.
'It is such a great thing to be able to take the time to make desirable and useable products from natural materials. You can't rush great leather work!'
