About the Course

Learn to use a variety of specialist green wood-working tools (Froe, Beetle, Small Hand Axe, Chopping Block, Draw Knife, Brace & Bit) whilst sat astride an authentic wooden Shaving Horse in the beautiful surroundings of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.We hope that, using the skills that you learn on the course, you will be inspired to continue this wonderful craft in your own time and who knows, maybe even build your own Shaving Horse to use.

Your tutor is local green wood worker, Paul Pulford. Alongside being an knowledgable trainer he is also an experienced and accomplished gardener, Paul creates wildflower gardens and vegetable patches in inner-city schools and on waste ground. He also uses horticulture as an aid to rehabilitation via the group he started called Grounded Ecotherapy.
