In this hands on workshop, we will cover simple fermentation methods, their endless benefits, and issues that might crop up. Bring an apron, prepare to get your hands messy, and possibly purple! Through adding salt to raw food we can preserve our organic (or otherwise) home grown grown produce complete with its entire micro nutrient benefit as well as further as benefitting further from nutrients and microbes created during the subsequent fermenting process. A double whammy of considerable health benefits and most delicious vegetables can be stored raw this way.
You will leave with jars of your own delicious sauerkraut and another of dillee veg, at the very start of its fermenting journey, plus the knowledge, enthusiasm and confidence to be creative and experiment with your very own home fermentations. Eve will bring along some jars for purchase on the day (£3) or feel free to bring your own from home. There will be an ingredients charge on the day of between £5 payable directly to the tutor on the day.
