About the Course

Join us for a 2 day workshop 'An introduction to the art of carving birds from wood'.

The course will be aimed at beginners but all are welcome irrespective of skill and experience.

It will be a stimulating two day introductory course to wildlife carving with the Severn Wildlife Carvers. Each participant will carve a wader in the smooth style over the course of the weekend.

Timber, plan and all the necessary tools and paints and brushes etc will be made available to enable you to complete your bird. The cost for materials is £20 payable to the tutor on the day.

Your tutor will also provide equipment which you will be able to purchase on the day:

Leather woodworkers apron - £12

Woodcarvers Knife - £25

Roger Francis is the current Chairman of the Severn Wildlife Carvers, the group meets and demonstrates wood carving on a monthly basis at the Slimbridge Wetlands Trust.
