Bargello Embroidered Mini Wall Hanging Workshop

Description

Bargello tapestry embroidery is a wonderfully easy and yet effective form of stitching. From a choice of four bright and bold patterns, we'll create one mini bargello wall hanging on the workshop. The skills you learn in creating this wall hanging will give you all the knowledge you need to dive in to more complicated patterns under your own steam. The wall hangings are approximately 12cm x 17cm (longer with a fringe added). I'll also show you some different ways in which bargello can be used, from fabric, to household ornaments and even jewellery. This workshop is suitable for beginners. All materials are provided, just bring yourself! We’ll be using a soft and chunky yarn that is 70% acrylic, 30% merino wool. The workshop is held in the workshop in my own home, just outside Stanley, County Durham. Please note: access to my home involves stairs. There is a maximum number of two people on the workshop, so you will receive plenty of individual attention and tuition.

I’m Carrie, and I’m an artist and art and crafts teacher based in Stanley, north east England. I have been teaching art and crafts since the early 2000s and teach a weekly art and craft workshop in the local area for a social prescribing programme. Through personal experience, and having lived with depression and anxiety since the early 1990s, I know just how engaging with art and crafts can bring about a wonderful sense of wellbeing and relaxation. I absolutely love passing on my knowledge and the benefits of art and craft for wellbeing. I particularly enjoy teaching absolute beginners, so rest assured, whatever your art and craft experience, I will guide you through the process and make it as enjoyable as I can for you! I love to share my knowledge and tips and techniques, so I hope you'll find the classes fun and informative.
