About the Course

Learn Amigurumi crochet in a day - no experience required as we will be starting the day by making a basic crochet 'Granny square' sample using the crochet techniques which we require to then carry on to make a small Amigurumi animal.

So what is Amigurumi? This is the art of creating a 3D shaped item using crochet or knitting. It is perfect for making toys, characters, and even vases or baskets from wool, cotton, or synthetic wools.

And it's very satisfying as well as fun to see your item take shape - literally!

Date: Saturday 10th November 2018

Time: 9.30am - 4pm

Location: Village Hall, Milborne Port (DT9 5RE)

Maximum number on workshop is 8 people. This class is suitable for adults and accompanied teens.

You will be provided with the tuition plus pattern for the sample crochet square as well as a choice of patterns for the Amigurumi animal, crochet hook, and wool to crochet with.

You will be able to take away your patterns and the wool you are crocheting with if you don't have time to completely finish on the day.

You will have seen how to finish your crocheted item on the day as it will be demonstrated at various stages so you can see what the stages are including starting off, crocheting in the round, stuffing, and finishing.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Patterns for the sample crochet square and a choice of patterns for the Amigurumi animal, crochet hook to use, and wool to crochet with.

You will be able to take away the patterns which you choose, the finished sample plus your finished animal (if you haven't finished your animal you will be able to take away the wool and any finishings needed to complete your project).

Crochet hooks, extra patterns and wool will all be available on the day to purchase if you want to crochet more at home afterwards (No obligation - just there if you would like them).

Hot and cold drinks plus biscuits are included - please bring your own lunch and any other refreshments which you would like.

You may wish to bring a craft apron and/or to wear clothes suitable for craft activities.
