About the Course

Create beautiful intricate macrame wall hangings on handmade recycled copper stands. Learn how to do half hitch, flat knots, half knots, cording, leaf patterns and other various techniques. Embellish with pieces of wood and different textured cotton string to make your piece unique.

Meet the tutor
Alice Hume is a Textile Artist who graduated from Winchester School of Art with a degree in Textile Design: Woven Textiles. She also had the opportunity to study Woven Design at the Swedish School of Textiles in Boras, Sweden in 2012. Her Native Beards Woven Collection has been exhibited in Edinburgh and London as well as being featured in Cover Mag and an Ebook with TextileArtist.

What's included in the price?

The workshop includes all materials but feel free to bring along a favourite piece of driftwood/stick you want to work with for your wall-hanging. You will be provided with a handmade copper frame stand to work on and of course tea, coffee and biscuits. You will also get a little booklet to take home with all the different knots.
