About the Course

Weekend indigo dyeing workshop at Flatford Mill, organised by the Field Studies Council.

Indigo is known as the "Queen of dyes". It is a magical process where beautiful patterns can be created on white cloth. In order to make the designs, we will be using stitch, soya wax, clamps and all sorts of unusual objects including drainpipes! The resultant cloth can be made into scarves, patchwork, throws etc. Come and join the fun in a relaxed atmosphere.

Annette Morgan is an international award winning quilt maker, teacher [Cert Ed], author and qualified quilt judge [Quilters' Guild of the British Isles 2005]. She has held various posts within the Quilters Guild including Vice President [1999 - 2001] and President [2001 - 2003] and founded Contemporary Quilt, a specialist interest group of the Quilters Guild.

She has taught City and Guilds Patchwork and Quilting, and machine embroidery to Diploma level for the last 15 years as well as teaching freelance at home and abroad. She is also a tutor on the QGBI International Quilt Judging course.
