Indian Block Printing at Stitching Kitchen

Hand carved wooden blocks are used with fabric paints

Join us at Stitching Kitchen to print fabric and textile items with Indian block printing. In this two hour Indian Block Printing experience you will get the opportunity to print a practice cloth and two blank items for your own needs as gifts or to fit your home decor. No stitching required for this workshop – do bring an apron and wear older clothes, we will be working with fabric paints which don’t wash out!!!

This will be a lovely relaxed session, you will find you can create some lovely images using the Indian carved blocks and let your imagination run riot with the fabric paints.

Indian block printing is easy to pick up so the session can be adapted to your needs, perhaps a party or for your social group, I can also travel to a venue of your choice, click the "message the tutor" button to arrange a bespoke session.

Your tutor will be Hannah, the owner of Stitching Kitchen. She set up the business in 2017 to share her passion and skills in all things involving textiles, fabric and threads. Her courses are relaxed and fun and held in her home based studio which forms part of her Kitchen. You will receive a warm welcome and tea/coffee and home made cake!

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

During the day you will have full access to Hannah's extensive collection of hand carved Indian blocks and you will be provided with plenty of colour choices of textile paint.

Hannah will start by demonstrating the technique and will be on hand to help with the process of printing and with design ideas for your finished pieces. You will start with a practice piece of fabric to develop your technique then print up two items to take home, typically a tea towel and tote bag.

A fantastic evening spent learning Indian Block Printing with Hannah in a really warm & friendly atmosphere with other novices of this craft. Great selection of stamp blocks & paints to choose from......I produced a tote bag & tea towel that are totally unique. Hannah is both knowledgeable & inspirational plus she bakes an excellent chocolate cake too!
I’m well & truly hooked now & was able to purchase a starter kit & extra stamp blocks plus gained lots of useful information to get me started on a great new craft.

What a fantastic evening! As a total beginner and not naturally artistic I was a little nervous ahead of the course, but shouldn't have worried. Hannah was so welcoming, putting everyone at their ease ( tea and cake too!). A great tutor and with so much choice on the night the only hard thing to do was stop! The printing was so much fun I have found a new 'arty' me! Thank you 😊 Highly recommended

A great evening, Hannah is an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher. Very pleased to have two completed items after just two hours.

Response from Stitching Kitchen:

Thank you Krys, I will be in touch soon about coming to your WI/Stitch group soon.

Felting workshop - - #18560

Booked on the course as a complete beginner.. Made to feel so welcome and soon got to grips with the process of making critters out of felt. A lovely way to spend an afternoon will definitely look at booking on other courses. Thanks Hannah

Thank you so much for a lovely evening my self and my 12 year old home educated daughter loved it and can't wait to attend another workshop soon 🤗

This was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours, all in the relaxed and friendly setting of Hannah's home. Hannah is a great hostess who always makes sure the kettle is on and a home baked cake is there to accompany it.
I decorated a tea towel and a tote bag. It was lovely to come away with something that was complete and could be used straight away, rather than something half finished which I'd never have got around to finishing myself!

Excellent course and would highly recommend to others. In fact have already done so and many friends are keeping their eyes out for the next block printing course. Cake is fab too xx

Hannah was a fantastic host. This was a friendly and welcoming evening where she made sure that everyone not only produced 2 things they were happy with, but also that we had a great time whilst learning.
