About the Course

Inclusions - Kiln forming process Next session is 13th April 2018

Suitable for beginners. Teens welcome.

Essentially a glass sandwich, which can be made up of pieces of glass, strings of glass, metals, and foils.

You could make one larger piece or several little pieces. Hanging decorations are popular, along with coasters and jewellery. These designs can be simple or more intricate - the choice is yours.

Once your work is fired, I then clean and fettle it before you can come to collect it. I aim to turn work around within two weeks. I can post if required for additional costs to cover packaging and postage.

Any questions please do get in touch with me using the clickable buttons at the top of this page.

I like to start my sessions promptly as there is a lot of information to share with you. If you are running late - please do let me know. We down tools and pack away at 8.30 pm to allow any glue to dry in good time before I transport them back to my studio.

My sessions currently run from Great Haywood Memorial Hall on Friday Evenings 6 pm till 9 pm. It is accessible via a ramp. There is a car park at the rear of the hall and local buses.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

Want to review this course?

Went to an intro class and made a pendant, then returned to do the kiln carving. Naomi is fun, relaxed and friendly. We got loads done in the time - I finished 2 pieces. I really love this method, it has given me a very interesting pair of glass ornaments to put in my windows! Would recommend for a nice absorbing few hours, but it is best if you go along with some ideas before you start.

Thank you for your review, Anna.
Glad you enjoyed it. x

This is an excellent introduction to kiln carving and glass with inclusions and allows for the development of these skills. It’s always a happy working environment with lots of help and encouragement. The materials are excellent with a wide variety of Frits to work with. A most enjoyable and interesting experience
