Learn the art of 24-carat gold leaf Gilding and make a special card or gift over the day
During this day you will work with gold or coloured leaf to create a design of your choice -
perhaps an illuminated letter, a traditional medieval nativity scene or a contemporary Christmas image. These small gilded pieces can be set in the mounts provided to make a
beautiful personalised gift or used to make a unique card.
Traditionally, manuscript illumination was associated with churches but there are many exciting ways of using those skills in a more personal way.
No experience or drawing skills necessary as there will be designs to trace and copy, but creativity is welcomed!
There will be a materials charge payable on the day of approx £15
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Welcome drinks: fresh coffee & homemade biscuits, a lovely 2 course Aga lunch served in our farmhouse kitchen or outside in the Greystoke Cycle Cafe Tea Garden as soon as it's warm enough. To finish off the day, a freshly made Cream Tea (including Aga-baked scones, cream and jam).
Our days are considered special treats; many come back time and time again and often combine it with a short break to the Lake District.
We have been hosting and organising 'Quirky Workshops' since 2005 from our friendly family run Cycle Cafe Tea Garden on the northern fringes of the Lake District. All our tutors are carefully hand-selected experts and professionals and many considered as leading nationally in their field.
