Taking advantage of the strength and durability of Art Clay Silver 950, create your own unique design hinged cuff. The class will begin with designing, preparing and creating your own texture plate for your cuff. You will be making delicate embellishments to stylise your own piece. You will learn Tracey’s technique for creating a neat metal clay hinge with a secure sterling silver clasp and safety chain fastening. This class is aimed at the intermediate metal clay enthusiast.
Art Clay Silver 950 needs to be fired in a kiln. However, and alternative design option is to make a four piece hinged bracelet using Art Clay Silver 999 which can be torch fired or gas hob fired.
This project will include some soldering techniques but an alternative for non-soldering will be demonstrated as well.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
Once you have registered for the class, you will be sent further information to make sure you are fully prepared on the day including a full list of tools & materials required.
We will also send you the Zoom login details & recommend that you sign in approx. 15 minutes before the start of the class as this will give us enough time to make sure you are properly connected & that you can see Tracey's workspace.
The bracelet will use approximately 25g of Art Clay Silver 950 which learners will need to purchase in advance of the class. If you decide to go bigger or wider with your design, you will need to purchase more than 25g of clay.
You will also need to prepare the general tools and materials from the list we will provide.
Learners will also need to purchase a hinge pin (details provided on booking).
In order for you to see things clearly you should join the class on a device with a good sized screen. Smart phones are not recommended as the screen will be too small to see the finer detail. We recommend a tablet or, even better, a laptop or desktop computer.
