Heritage Wood Occupations SAP NVQ L3


About the Course

This course along with the NVQ L3 assessment can be accessed for reduced cost for CITB registered companies and their employees. We also welcome non CITB registered learners - please contact us for prices.

The course is split into 2 x 10 day blocks and will be both theory and practical sessions on local live builds.

Participants will be taught by John Munro and Alan Creasey who have extensive knowledge in the heritage industry.

Subject areas will include: best practice, safe working practice, defects, sketches and scale drawings,the history of timber framework in the UK; regional variations; specialist tools and equipment; the milling process; the components of typical timber frame construction; peg making; setting, measuring and marking out, daisy wheel geometry; jointing and shaping; fitting, fixing, finishing, positioning and erecting.

The SAP (Specialist Applied-Skills Programme) courses are recommended as an informative starting point for NVQ Level 3 in Heritage Wood Occupations for which Traditional Building Skills Co Ltd can register and assess you.
