About the Course
TRADITIONAL TIMBER FRAMING
During the course participants will be involved in the construction of a timber frame building with talented timber framer John Munro. Where following subject areas will be covered: the history of timber framework in the UK; regional variations; specialist tools and equipment; the milling process; the components of typical timber frame construction; peg making; setting, measuring and marking out, daisy wheel geometry; jointing and shaping; fitting, fixing, finishing, positioning and erecting.
The workshop is limited to 8 participants, and is suitable for everyone: please note that the price above is for a very experienced participant, please get in touch for other skill levels of those doing skilled trades working in Heritage construction industry.
These courses are recommended as an informative starting point for NVQ Level 3 in Heritage Wood Occupations for which Traditional Building Skills Co Ltd can register and assess you. Please contact us for further details and prices.
