About the Course
Have you ever wanted to learn how to identify common, locally found plants? How about learning how to make medicine using the contents of your spice rack, or using easily obtained ingredients? Why not join me for a range of one day sessions where you will learn how to:
How to gather, dry and prepare your own herbs
How to make a variety of different plant medicines
How to use those plant medicines to treat common ailments
How to spot ailments that need more specialised help
How to cook tasty wild food recipes and medicines that double as food
And much, much more!
My workshops last for one full day, 9am til 4pm as a general rule, and feature foraging, plant identification and gathering from the local countryside as well as from my well stocked herb garden.
During each session you will have plenty of time to ask lots of questions, take plenty of pictures and notes, and all attendees go home with at least six completed remedies plus a set of handouts with all recipes used as well as some extra ones you can try at home.
Please bring your own jars and bottles - I'll provide everything else you need. Each session has space for up to six people and is run at my lovely (but unusual) home. For the sessions covering specific body parts, each workshop will include anatomy and physiology discussions, pathophysiology (what goes wrong) as well as looking at herbs that can be of benefit, and creating remedies geared towards individual health issues. We will also discuss ailments best not treated at home, and how to identify them.

About me - I am a qualified and practicing medical herbalist, specialising in our wild plants and their many uses. I've been working with plants for over 20 years now, and really hope that these workshops pass on some of the passion and enthusiasm I have for our wonderful native plants. I now see clients at Stella Arden Associates in Louth on Tuesdays.
