About the Course
Moulds from Nature
This workshop is structured to suit students new to working with silver clay as well as offering more experienced students an opportunity to develop new skills. Using a selection of natural objects such as seed heads, fossilised sharks teeth, acorns etc. you will learn how to make successful silicon moulds and use them to create replicas. Following your own designs Helen will take you through all the processes to complete stunning pieces of unique jewellery.
About the Tutor
I have always had a love of jewellery and all things sparkly and a fascination for how pieces are made and put together.
I started silversmithing as a hobby in the late 1990’s at Filton College in Bristol, where I learnt basic silversmith skills which I have developed over the years.
After moving to Suffolk in 2001 I discovered silver clay and have enjoyed working with this amazing product so much over the years that in 2015 I decided on a major life change, moving from a long term career in the health service to follow my passion for jewellery making and teaching.
Natural items from which to take moulds will be supplied by Helen, but you are welcome to bring your own very small pieces
